Sewage pumps

The function of a sewage pump is to move sewage liquids and solids between one location and another. Typically, in residential applications, sewage (including soft solids up to 2” in diameter) is pumped from a sewage basin to a sewer system or a septic tank.

If you want a floor drain, toilet or sink fixtures in the basement, you need to lift the waste water out. You do this by installing a sewage ejector system. The farther the distance the waste must be lifted, the more powerful the pump needs to be.

• 1-3 Drains – ½ HP Sewage Pump
• 4 or more Drains – ¾ HP Sewage Pump

We’ll locate the tank that will receive wasted water near the sewer line that runs to the proper sewage system. Once it’s been located, the pump can be installed and connected. we’ll then adjust the float and test the system. With many years experience, our technicians are specialized in sewage pump installations.

Three classes of submersible sewage pumps exist:

  • Smaller submersible pumps, used in domestic and light commercial applications, normally handle up to 2.2 in spherical solids
  • Larger submersible pumps, handle 2.6 in and larger solids. They are generally used in municipal and industrial applications for pumping sewage and all types of industrial waste water.
  • Submersible chopper pumps, which are used to handle larger concentrations of solids and/or tougher solids that conventional sewage pumps cannot handle. Chopper pumps are generally used in municipal and industrial waste water applications and provide clog-free operation by macerating those solids that might clog other types of submersible pumps.

Submersible pumps are normally used in a packaged pump station where drainage by gravity is not possible.
