Do you live in the City of Toronto?

The City offers owners of single-family, duplex and triplex residential homes a subsidy of up to $3,400 per property to install flood protection devices. Eligible work includes:

Backwater valve

Installation or replacement of backwater valve.
Installation of alarm for backwater valve.

Sump pump

Installation or replacement of sump pump.
Installation of alarm for sump pump.
Installation of back-up power for sump pump.

Foundation drain (weeping tile) pipe severance and capping

Disconnection of foundation drains (weeping tiles) from the City’s sewer system by severing and capping the underground sewer connection.

Disconnecting the downspouts from your property’s eavestrough system is not eligible for a subsidy.

Once the work is complete, an application forum will be filled out and mailed in. Before you know it, you’ll be receiving a check in the mail!

Did you know?

Your Insurance provider may offer you up to 10% in discounts when you take action to protect your property from flooding
The works MUST be done by a licensed contractor (T94, T92) otherwise you won’t receive your rebate.
- To verify your Contractors license, contact Municipal Licensing & Standards (MLS) at 416-392-6700 or checking online.
